उत्तर - शुक्र और मंगल पर वायुमंडल में लगभग 95-97% कार्बन डाइऑक्साइड उपस्थित है । ऐसे CO2-समृद्ध अत्यधिक गर्म वातावरण में जीवन मौजूद नहीं हो सकता है। शुक्र ग्रह में पृथ्वी की भांति वायुमंडल नहीं है।मंगल ग्रह में वायुमंडल है पर वह काफी पतला है जिस कारण सूर्य की हानिकारक किरणें मंगल की सतह तक पहुंच जाती हैं दोनों सतह का तापमान लगभग 735 K तक पहुँच जाता है। यही कारण है कि मंगल और शुक्र ग्रह पर जीवन संभव नहीं है।
